Laura Klingberg joins Bamla as our new PR & Comms Consultant. Laura brings an extensive background in journalism, most recently as a business and finance reporter at Hufvudstadsbladet. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Helsinki and has pursued graduate studies in Strategic and Political Communication at the University of Gothenburg.
Why the switch from journalism to PR?
After years of covering the tech industry and AI as a journalist, I wanted to be closer to the action, and help companies tell their stories in a compelling way, rather than just reporting on them. Bamla's focus on finance and tech combined with its ambitions in the Nordic market made it an obvious fit.
As Bamla expands, I bring an in-depth knowledge of the Nordic media landscape. Having spent more than a decade in the newsroom, I know what makes a story land and who to pitch it to. This feels like the right match at the right time.
What should companies keep in mind in 2026?
As the media landscape becomes more fragmented, earned media will only grow in importance. In a world flooded with AI-generated content and paid placements, a story in a trusted publication carries more weight than ever. But fewer journalists are covering more ground, which means they're pickier about what they write. The companies that win coverage in 2026 will be the ones with sharp stories and the right strategies to land them.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, you'll find me at the cinema, preferably watching an arthouse film. I'm a big reader and enjoy meeting with my book club to discuss contemporary fiction and whatever else is on our minds. I also practice yoga and take long walks to recharge.
